Speaker:

Howdy!

Speaker:

It's the Southern Senpai Show, where small town Southerners explore big

Speaker:

time Japanese entertainment, anime, manga, and everything in between.

Speaker:

Here's your hosts, Nicholas and DJ.

Speaker:

All Southern Senpais, two Southern guys who explore Japanese culture together.

Speaker:

I'm Nicholas.

Speaker:

I'm DJ, and today we're not just two Southern guys.

Speaker:

We also have two other women with us.

Speaker:

I said other women.

Speaker:

They're not Southern.

Speaker:

They're not Southern, exactly.

Speaker:

That's not true.

Speaker:

I'm from South Carolina.

Speaker:

South, I think she's from the Southern Carolina.

Speaker:

Not really South, but yeah.

Speaker:

You guys want to introduce yourselves?

Speaker:

Hi, I'm Allison Srebnick.

Speaker:

I'm a production manager over at Titmouse Animation Studios.

Speaker:

That's you.

Speaker:

Hi.

Speaker:

Hi.

Speaker:

I Did you know you had a mic in your hand?

Speaker:

Did you have a microphone?

Speaker:

Yeah, I just, whoa, okay.

Speaker:

Hi, I'm Arielle Freeman.

Speaker:

I'm a production coordinator at DreamWorks Animation.

Speaker:

I am not from the South.

Speaker:

I'm actually from the Midwest.

Speaker:

Represent.

Speaker:

Hey, somebody asked me This was the special guest that we were

Speaker:

telling you guys about last episode.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

They are, they work in animation.

Speaker:

They're probably more qualified to do Oh, okay.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

This job than us.

Speaker:

XD But today we're gonna be watching Blue Eyes Samurai.

Speaker:

Nicholas, have you heard anything about this show?

Speaker:

Nope.

Speaker:

How about either of you two?

Speaker:

What have you heard about this show?

Speaker:

Positives?

Speaker:

Negatives?

Speaker:

Have you seen it before?

Speaker:

I have not seen it before, but I have heard very good things about it.

Speaker:

Especially considering people I'm working with right now did

Speaker:

actually work production on it.

Speaker:

And a lot of the artists that we just hired on the show that I'm on are from it.

Speaker:

Oh!

Speaker:

I'm excited to see if they can what they can do.

Speaker:

I hear a lot of weird things about the art and stuff like that.

Speaker:

So let's check it out.

Speaker:

If you're watching along with us, we're going to start the

Speaker:

play in three Two, one and go.

Speaker:

Uhoh.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Hold on.

Speaker:

If you're watching, you're gonna have to, you're gonna be mad.

Speaker:

Pause real fast.

Speaker:

We're gonna go back to zero.

Speaker:

I'm gonna go back to zero.

Speaker:

. They're gonna be mad if you don't go.

Speaker:

They're gonna be, they're gonna be mad if it's off.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

I'm doing it.

Speaker:

I'm doing the thing.

Speaker:

I'm going with a thing.

Speaker:

I'm going back to 0, 0, 0, 0 0, 0.

Speaker:

Alright, we're at zero.

Speaker:

Zero.

Speaker:

Alright, you ready?

Speaker:

Alright, now.

Speaker:

1, 2, 3.

Speaker:

Play.

Speaker:

There it is, da dum!

Speaker:

The big N sound.

Speaker:

Do you know anything about this anime?

Speaker:

I know that there's a samurai in here, and apparently they have blue eyes.

Speaker:

I've heard this before.

Speaker:

Shh, no spoilers.

Speaker:

There's

Speaker:

some fire, there's some snow.

Speaker:

There's some gorgeous map paintings.

Speaker:

What is a map painting?

Speaker:

A painting of a map.

Speaker:

Yeah, I'm so foolish, you're right.

Speaker:

Allison can probably explain it better than I can.

Speaker:

Oh man, we're watching this thing.

Speaker:

Do I really have to go into the details of how we make animation?

Speaker:

No, we're supposed to talk about the show.

Speaker:

This looks like a very classic intro here.

Speaker:

Like a classic Lone Warrior intro.

Speaker:

Can you tell us anything about the people that worked on this?

Speaker:

Do they prefer their coffee black or sugar in it?

Speaker:

Samurai Jack's inspiration?

Speaker:

Basically, from what I've heard from them, is the goal was to make an anime.

Speaker:

One of the things that you'll notice throughout it, is

Speaker:

just perfectly still moments.

Speaker:

Where not a lot is happening, not a lot of animation, the

Speaker:

visuals speak for themselves.

Speaker:

Gotcha.

Speaker:

So it's like Demon Slayer a little bit.

Speaker:

It's like any anime.

Speaker:

Oh, the visuals are really nice and it tells the story as well.

Speaker:

There hasn't been any dialogue yet and you already got an idea of just the main

Speaker:

character and like what they're like.

Speaker:

I need to have one of these in my room.

Speaker:

Just like a fish thing.

Speaker:

Like this fish entrance thing.

Speaker:

I like that.

Speaker:

You know what's interesting?

Speaker:

Don't they usually draw anime characters with very round eyes?

Speaker:

Everyone here has more authentic eye shapes.

Speaker:

Go ahead and say it, DJ.

Speaker:

The round eyes from anime actually is due to the Disney influence

Speaker:

of Bambi and things like that.

Speaker:

And they wanted to actually look like the Disney characters because that was

Speaker:

the only animation they really knew.

Speaker:

But this one is to focus more on the actual culture of Japan.

Speaker:

Oh, I didn't know that.

Speaker:

Oh, he doesn't have any hands.

Speaker:

We're gonna know everything about this anime before we're done, huh, Allison?

Speaker:

You call him Stumpy, bro?

Speaker:

I'll beat your ass with my stump, bro.

Speaker:

Allison!

Speaker:

So this is not registered to me as something that was rated for children.

Speaker:

It's done by prostitutes.

Speaker:

I didn't know that.

Speaker:

Eat up, girls!

Speaker:

Eat it all!

Speaker:

Oh!

Speaker:

Yeah, I hate that.

Speaker:

I think that's really gross.

Speaker:

Like, when people eat noodles with their hands, I just can't.

Speaker:

I don't know what it is about that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Can't go a day without breaking dishes.

Speaker:

Ringo, clean him!

Speaker:

He has no hands!

Speaker:

What's wrong with you?

Speaker:

Oh?

Speaker:

He has the strap.

Speaker:

The strap.

Speaker:

Oh, and then you got the quiet stranger in the back.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

How do you know someone's a low tier villain?

Speaker:

They introduce themselves.

Speaker:

And how do you know that there's a hero?

Speaker:

They interrupt their introduction.

Speaker:

Thanks.

Speaker:

Already

Speaker:

the staging and the boarding is gorgeous.

Speaker:

Like

Speaker:

In this time period Japanese traded with the Dutch.

Speaker:

Again, with the hands.

Speaker:

They give you utensils.

Speaker:

Man, cut this mothafucka's hand off.

Speaker:

Woohoo.

Speaker:

Damn, cut off Both fingers.

Speaker:

Yeah, our stranger's very skilled here.

Speaker:

Would you still eat here?

Speaker:

You just saw the man get his fingers cut off.

Speaker:

Would you still eat there?

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

I don't know, it makes you kinda hungry, oddly.

Speaker:

This art style reminds me of the Arcadia anime.

Speaker:

That should make sense.

Speaker:

Like the Arcane.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh, is it Arcane?

Speaker:

Yeah, Arcane.

Speaker:

Netflix during this time was in the process of creating shows like Arcane.

Speaker:

This is one of their Arcane was dope.

Speaker:

I really liked that one.

Speaker:

I would.

Speaker:

So you'll notice that On the same dish!

Speaker:

Interesting.

Speaker:

This is not 2D.

Speaker:

This is 3D.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So But the backgrounds are not.

Speaker:

Yeah, they're all They are So like all of this texturing and

Speaker:

all of this kind of stuff, it's supposed to look like a painting.

Speaker:

That's the goal.

Speaker:

That's what a MAPE painting is.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

So it's exactly, so all this CG is happening in front of a painting.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

That's a MAPE painting.

Speaker:

So they're taking, it's really high resolution, beautiful painting.

Speaker:

So they're taking CG elements, wrapping them in a bit matte texture of a actual

Speaker:

Photoshop painting, placing it on there.

Speaker:

And this is what you end up with.

Speaker:

So see all those the curtain animation of her cloak there?

Speaker:

That is, that's all 3D animation, so that's a simulation.

Speaker:

But the bamboo and stuff like that's the painting.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

And see how it's like moving in the back?

Speaker:

That's a trick that 2D animators actually use.

Speaker:

You'll never catch up on the path!

Speaker:

And Disney's the one who actually created it.

Speaker:

Where he would have an actual plane of different glass slates of the

Speaker:

trees, the forests, all the stuff.

Speaker:

Foreground element, middle ground element, background element.

Speaker:

The characters are in the middle ground, you have the

Speaker:

foreground element blurred out.

Speaker:

This is Disney's making.

Speaker:

You can fake movement based off how you move that background in those different

Speaker:

sections, those different layers.

Speaker:

For example, if you're in a car and you're looking out the window, do

Speaker:

you see how the very as far as you can see, it feels like it's moving

Speaker:

slower than the area closest to you?

Speaker:

We have perspective.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

So it's, they're using those tricks for real life.

Speaker:

It's brilliant.

Speaker:

It's like Samurai Jack and Arcade together.

Speaker:

Okay, why is everyone so mean to this guy with no hand?

Speaker:

I feel like this is it also could be a time period thing.

Speaker:

This is very particular on this time period.

Speaker:

Oh, it is 1633.

Speaker:

I do this little wooden hat he has on here.

Speaker:

Oh, and of course the reluctant master and the plucky He looks like the

Speaker:

same age as this person, but still.

Speaker:

I don't know why I can The voice actor for the guy who doesn't

Speaker:

have any hands I recognize him.

Speaker:

What is he in?

Speaker:

Probably a bunch of stuff is in this one.

Speaker:

Probably.

Speaker:

Oh, look, he's tied up.

Speaker:

He's on a tree.

Speaker:

Really nice tree.

Speaker:

His purpose of being here is the comedic timing that we needed to break up

Speaker:

the horrific images that we just saw.

Speaker:

Yep, you need some kind of levity in a story to keep people engaged.

Speaker:

Although, Tackentine's able to get away with it and do okay,

Speaker:

I think it also depends on the type of execution that you want.

Speaker:

If you want a more classical story, then yeah, you're gonna

Speaker:

have the goofy character.

Speaker:

This background here, that was CG.

Speaker:

Did you see how it moved differently than the other ones?

Speaker:

That was a comp This is a completely formed CG background that this character

Speaker:

is probably gonna interact with.

Speaker:

You can see that, I can tell the leaves are some

Speaker:

incense.

Speaker:

Thank you, for I was lost without course so long.

Speaker:

Please, let December's light brighten a path from this age

Speaker:

as you know to the men I seek.

Speaker:

Please, guide my steps until I find them.

Speaker:

Please, give me the strength to move on.

Speaker:

Or let me die.

Speaker:

Or, her family could have been killed due to corruption, and

Speaker:

she's actually from a noble line.

Speaker:

Nah, like in the intro in the lines it said like being white was like illegal.

Speaker:

I don't think that she was probably noble, because she has blue eyes.

Speaker:

Where did it say being white was illegal?

Speaker:

In the beginning, you weren't reading.

Speaker:

It's because you're from Louisiana, and you have 48th ranked education.

Speaker:

We all like no words, we like pictures.

Speaker:

Oh, here we go, we got backstory.

Speaker:

Hey watch, I bet you they're going to be mad because she's white.

Speaker:

She's wearing goggles to hide her eyes.

Speaker:

Oh, I thought those were like glasses or something,

Speaker:

wearing a mask to hide her eyes.

Speaker:

Go ahead.

Speaker:

Kids can be so cruel.

Speaker:

They can.

Speaker:

They have no chill.

Speaker:

Their parents teach them this way.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Damn, bro.

Speaker:

Damn.

Speaker:

There we go.

Speaker:

We got our answer.

Speaker:

This is

Speaker:

Like a, she's like a girl.

Speaker:

Why are you beating up a girl?

Speaker:

I've never seen, I haven't seen that before.

Speaker:

Round eyes.

Speaker:

Like a doll.

Speaker:

Keep in mind also, Japan was cut off from the world at this time period, they barely

Speaker:

interacted with anyone from outside.

Speaker:

Yeah, I think, okay, this must be a time to, wasn't it I don't know

Speaker:

if they were, I guess they were banned, but I forget the reason.

Speaker:

They only did trade with the Dutch, only in one specific part of Japan.

Speaker:

They did not do any other they had no other communication

Speaker:

with the outside world.

Speaker:

Completely cut off.

Speaker:

So when you're different, it's pretty noticeable.

Speaker:

Hence the Blue Eye Samurai.

Speaker:

. Wow.

Speaker:

It's pride rock.

Speaker:

It's great staging.

Speaker:

Notice how little dialogue has already been done in this.

Speaker:

Most of the story is being told by the images.

Speaker:

See, it's a great technique.

Speaker:

. It's anime's technique.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

Cannot waste anything with your visuals.

Speaker:

It's also good to have the space to do this.

Speaker:

You know what I'm saying?

Speaker:

Is he blind?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

How did you get to this meteorite so fast?

Speaker:

Yeah, but he must have been in the area.

Speaker:

This show's give me like, Dororo vibes.

Speaker:

Has anyone seen that one?

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So good.

Speaker:

If anyone's not seen it, I recommend.

Speaker:

Especially you both, I feel like you'd like it.

Speaker:

Is that the one where they got the masks on?

Speaker:

So it's the one about a kid whose father basically sold him to a demon

Speaker:

when he was a child, and he lost Oh!

Speaker:

And he got all his skin was taken off.

Speaker:

Not just his skin, but his organs, his ability to feel, smell

Speaker:

Skin, eyes, bones, everything.

Speaker:

And as he got older, with every demon he killed, the more senses and feat

Speaker:

and his own features that he got back.

Speaker:

Yeah, I heard about this.

Speaker:

So I haven't seen it, but I have heard about it.

Speaker:

It's phenomenal.

Speaker:

It was based off of the original show came out in the 60s.

Speaker:

And then they basically redid it in this darker retelling and it was brilliant.

Speaker:

But wasn't something about Astro, wasn't like the artist who made

Speaker:

that also the dude who did Astro Boy or something like that?

Speaker:

I think he was trippin I don't know.

Speaker:

It might have just been the style from the 60s.

Speaker:

You're probably just trippin Yeah, probably.

Speaker:

Why is he caressing it like that?

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

To be fair, he can't see it.

Speaker:

Because he's probably going to make it out, make like a

Speaker:

sword or something out of it.

Speaker:

That's why he's dinging on it.

Speaker:

Like Sokka's space sword.

Speaker:

You know what I'm noticing here?

Speaker:

Alright, so when she gets older, I assume this is the same person,

Speaker:

but it probably is, right?

Speaker:

She's dressed in blue, she's dressed in blue now.

Speaker:

The blue eyes, blue this, blue that.

Speaker:

So it's probably going to be her sword because it's a blue meteor.

Speaker:

I would assume so.

Speaker:

And this is probably her mentor.

Speaker:

Wow, you use your deductive reasoning that quick?

Speaker:

Yeah, man, I told you, bro.

Speaker:

I, man, yeah, wow.

Speaker:

You gotta give it to the storytellers.

Speaker:

They're doing a great job, keeping you engaged.

Speaker:

Gotta be all that safety education you got up there.

Speaker:

He has these scars on his arm.

Speaker:

Probably cause he was a slave.

Speaker:

He also might be a blacksmith, and blacksmiths tend to work with their hands.

Speaker:

It makes sense.

Speaker:

I don't know any other way they would have done it, to be fair, would you?

Speaker:

That is very CG.

Speaker:

They're terrible at hiding.

Speaker:

You can't just scream when you wake up.

Speaker:

I can't read kanji.

Speaker:

Was that something that was that a prayer or something?

Speaker:

I would assume that it was probably a prayer that he would

Speaker:

be able to make a good sword.

Speaker:

Actually, it would be really nice if someone made tea.

Speaker:

I want tea now.

Speaker:

Go ahead, DJ.

Speaker:

Make some tea.

Speaker:

You know what?

Speaker:

I will, actually.

Speaker:

Alright.

Speaker:

I'll see you guys later.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Wow, that's big hands.

Speaker:

Or that's a small cup.

Speaker:

It's probably both.

Speaker:

Aww.

Speaker:

There we go.

Speaker:

So you got this old man who's by himself.

Speaker:

And this little girl who's by herself.

Speaker:

And you make a little family.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Would be nice if someone kept proper time.

Speaker:

This is also the same

Speaker:

method in which Alison and Ariel learned how to animate.

Speaker:

They were beat on the head if they messed up one time.

Speaker:

No, this is the Miyagi Method.

Speaker:

Here I'm going to have you wax on, wax off.

Speaker:

But I do like the way that they keep going back and forth

Speaker:

between the past and the present.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's an interesting choice.

Speaker:

Some people they do, some stories they just do only linearly, sometimes

Speaker:

you only have one flashback scene.

Speaker:

And so they're mirrored for mirrored for right now and I feel like it's gonna be

Speaker:

a good payoff of telling it that way.

Speaker:

I feel like this is very Asian storytelling.

Speaker:

Like lots of Asian storytelling from like Chinese dramas to Korean dramas.

Speaker:

And all that kind of thing.

Speaker:

And especially if it's an anime, they'll do a back and forth

Speaker:

between the past and the present.

Speaker:

But it's fascinating because it's like almost impossible to

Speaker:

do this in like a novel form.

Speaker:

You drive your reader crazy.

Speaker:

Where are we?

Speaker:

What's going on?

Speaker:

Didn't Lord of the Rakes do that a lot?

Speaker:

Or I can't feed my children.

Speaker:

You know the rules.

Speaker:

I don't remember it that much in the novel.

Speaker:

I read it too long ago.

Speaker:

My mother made me.

Speaker:

No, the movies.

Speaker:

The movies do it, but I don't remember if the novel did it.

Speaker:

Travel pass.

Speaker:

Oh, I thought she was going to cut off his fingers.

Speaker:

Man!

Speaker:

I want to see some more fingers get cut off.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

Because they need a man to travel through.

Speaker:

But That's unfortunate.

Speaker:

They should have had some bribe money like she does.

Speaker:

She already had her save the cat moment.

Speaker:

Why don't you explain that?

Speaker:

Okay basically when a new hero is introduced in order to, for the

Speaker:

audience to identify with them, you gotta have a moment where they show

Speaker:

that they are willing to root for.

Speaker:

They show that they're a nice guy by saving someone else, in

Speaker:

this case, a man with no hands.

Speaker:

With no hands, exactly.

Speaker:

Coined by the guy who wrote the book, Save the Cat, and he has, I kinda don't

Speaker:

like that book, but that's the story.

Speaker:

Do you know where I can find the Shindo Dojo?

Speaker:

Shindo?

Speaker:

That's our dojo.

Speaker:

You're gonna blind?

Speaker:

You look like a blind beggar.

Speaker:

How would I be a blind beggar if I'm looking at you?

Speaker:

If you would please show me how to find your dojo, I'd be grateful.

Speaker:

Follow the road to the shrine.

Speaker:

Once you go around the gates, you'll see a sign across the puppet show.

Speaker:

That's clearly a lie.

Speaker:

They obviously don't like you.

Speaker:

And they ran away laughing.

Speaker:

Is that a whorehouse?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It's what the red lights mean.

Speaker:

The real question is, bro, why are you just out there just watching?

Speaker:

Either you're gonna buy or you're gonna move on, okay?

Speaker:

This is not a, this is not a magazine shop.

Speaker:

Back then it was.

Speaker:

Hey, you got me there.

Speaker:

Oh my god.

Speaker:

Man, they just said show a dog and everything.

Speaker:

What a dick.

Speaker:

So as animators, let me ask you a question does that is that like a style choice?

Speaker:

Can't they just, they usually you can animate in such a way where you don't

Speaker:

see it, welcome to Netflix, where standards and practices do not apply.

Speaker:

Ignore the dicks.

Speaker:

Did you walk out in the cold without any pants?

Speaker:

How did you hey, how did you untie yourself?

Speaker:

I demand an answer to this.

Speaker:

You gotta respect that.

Speaker:

Somehow he got it.

Speaker:

How much for three nights?

Speaker:

I thought you weren't gonna stay.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

Titties.

Speaker:

They're gonna show dick, I think you have to show titties.

Speaker:

I think it's like a rule.

Speaker:

You have to do both.

Speaker:

Gender equality, right?

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

You can be a little rough.

Speaker:

These you have to

Speaker:

I'm so disturbed right now.

Speaker:

. Yeah.

Speaker:

This is why Americans shouldn't make anime.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

This wasn't really in any of the reviews.

Speaker:

a hundred percent unnecessary.

Speaker:

It's it, like you said, it's Netflix.

Speaker:

They're gonna show Dick.

Speaker:

You gotta show, you gotta show the other one.

Speaker:

It's only fair is how can we get actual viewers.

Speaker:

Let's put porn in it.

Speaker:

Titties!

Speaker:

They haven't lost sight of what the audience truly wants.

Speaker:

We got royalty, guys.

Speaker:

Or, I don't know, someone important.

Speaker:

She has to be royalty or else they wouldn't be carrying her, right?

Speaker:

Or at least wealthy.

Speaker:

She also wouldn't be wearing all of the gold.

Speaker:

Maybe she's a concubine.

Speaker:

Probably.

Speaker:

Yeah, that's true.

Speaker:

The Empress would be in the castle.

Speaker:

Oh, I thought you were about to say something else.

Speaker:

What?

Speaker:

What?

Speaker:

What?

Speaker:

We just saw sex and titties?

Speaker:

Come on, that's a logical leap.

Speaker:

Oh, she's a princess.

Speaker:

Yep, she's a princess.

Speaker:

I practiced that speech myself when I told my parents I was not

Speaker:

gonna do a doctoring anymore.

Speaker:

I don't think she's a princess.

Speaker:

The princess would already be at the castle.

Speaker:

I don't know, I'm seeing the gold.

Speaker:

She's maybe she's the daughter of some lord or something.

Speaker:

Yeah, that's probably it.

Speaker:

The emperors had Which is like a princess, then.

Speaker:

They had many concubines.

Speaker:

And usually they were from their cabinet members.

Speaker:

What is the daughter of a lord called?

Speaker:

A concubine.

Speaker:

No, the daughter!

Speaker:

Not the one Lady.

Speaker:

Conquer the concubines.

Speaker:

She's a lady.

Speaker:

A lady.

Speaker:

He's a lord, she's a lady.

Speaker:

a lady, but what is a lady called?

Speaker:

I don't know what Japanese is.

Speaker:

I only watch Chinese and Korean dramas.

Speaker:

I can only give you the stuff in Korean.

Speaker:

Or Chinese.

Speaker:

We want the stuff in Japanese then.

Speaker:

I'm sorry, I can't help you.

Speaker:

Hime, maybe.

Speaker:

Let's go with that.

Speaker:

That's Princess.

Speaker:

Alright, cool.

Speaker:

We're gonna go with that.

Speaker:

She's a possi We don't know yet, though.

Speaker:

You think she's a dude?

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

I have a feeling that this entire show is really based around

Speaker:

the concepts of female power.

Speaker:

You gave him that haircut?

Speaker:

That should be fucking illegal.

Speaker:

That is the hairstyle though.

Speaker:

I refuse.

Speaker:

Doesn't matter.

Speaker:

I will go back in time and beat this guy's ass.

Speaker:

What's the idea behind that hairstyle?

Speaker:

So she is a princess.

Speaker:

Yeah she's a princess.

Speaker:

I knew it.

Speaker:

It's 'cause she's practicing talking to her father.

Speaker:

You get respect from someone.

Speaker:

Concubines.

Speaker:

They don't really do that.

Speaker:

Father, I know your wisdom is beyond your reproach and I submit your

Speaker:

real holy, but I would be Remi.

Speaker:

You know what happens when you feed a pig?

Speaker:

Sweets damn bitch.

Speaker:

A pig.

Speaker:

Of course you don't.

Speaker:

Your life has been roped in silk.

Speaker:

You've never seen the mud of the sky.

Speaker:

Her father wasn't a pig farm.

Speaker:

When a farmer feeds his pig too many sweets, its teeth rot, its gums

Speaker:

fester, the infection goes to its brain and it must be slaughtered

Speaker:

before it reaches full size.

Speaker:

The pig can't be blamed.

Speaker:

He's a pig and will eat all it can.

Speaker:

The fault is with the farmer.

Speaker:

Who knows better?

Speaker:

Am I a pig, father?

Speaker:

You want sugar when there are proper options.

Speaker:

More than a few lords have taken notice of you when inquired.

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

News came just this morning.

Speaker:

Lord Saito's wife died in childbirth and he needs a new bride.

Speaker:

Fuck.

Speaker:

He's an old man!

Speaker:

And a drunk and a whore mother!

Speaker:

Lord Saito earns a hundred thousand cuckoo.

Speaker:

Is that your price for me?

Speaker:

If I don't marry you off, you'll end up in a brothel line with him anyway.

Speaker:

So would you rather be his wife, or his whore?

Speaker:

Father, I know your wisdom is beyond reproach, and I submit

Speaker:

to your will wholeheartedly.

Speaker:

I spoke from fear, as these men live so far away, and I

Speaker:

cannot imagine a life without my father close.

Speaker:

Please.

Speaker:

Please.

Speaker:

Consider someone who lives near, someone you trust to protect me,

Speaker:

and the interests of our clan.

Speaker:

My dove, I forget you are a simple girl.

Speaker:

You know nothing of the world.

Speaker:

Perhaps I need a husband who knows the toil of life in the battle as you have.

Speaker:

One who has seen the sky.

Speaker:

I do know of a fierce and Best swordsman in the best school, he said.

Speaker:

Won 24 duels with every opponent dead.

Speaker:

I'm not a noble family official, son of Kahama, but

Speaker:

his prize reminds me of my own.

Speaker:

What was his name again?

Speaker:

Taigen, I believe.

Speaker:

If his skills matter.

Speaker:

Oh yeah, she gets what she wants.

Speaker:

Somebody's already seen him.

Speaker:

Ooh, she knows what she's doing.

Speaker:

Ooh hoo!

Speaker:

So who's the simple girl now, you dumb idiot?

Speaker:

That's what you wanted from the beginning.

Speaker:

That's the thing.

Speaker:

He thinks she's a simple girl so she can take advantage of that.

Speaker:

I assume this is the Taigen.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

he is Taigen.

Speaker:

Aw, this is so sweet.

Speaker:

This is going to end so badly.

Speaker:

I was just thinking that.

Speaker:

I was like, oh.

Speaker:

Ah, it's trouble true.

Speaker:

Let me just let me just do this good correct me if I'm wrong, so we got

Speaker:

a blue eyed samurai, a princess who wants to marry an undefeated samurai.

Speaker:

With no high class.

Speaker:

Also, I don't think she's a princess.

Speaker:

I think her father is a warlord.

Speaker:

At the time, throughout Japan, there were multiple warlords.

Speaker:

I have a feeling we're about to have a war.

Speaker:

And she's looking for a dojo.

Speaker:

The same dojo with the same symbol as that guy was wearing.

Speaker:

I feel like they're gonna fight.

Speaker:

Yes, I have a feeling that she lost somebody very important.

Speaker:

And that's why she was looking at the gun.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

And she's now on a path of revenge.

Speaker:

Will Taigen be the one that she kills?

Speaker:

We'll see.

Speaker:

I have to say, if she does kill him, it's going to put a little

Speaker:

damper in that engagement.

Speaker:

It never goes well.

Speaker:

Everyone knows that.

Speaker:

Characters can't be happy in shows like this.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

And main characters can't have both their parents.

Speaker:

It's not allowed.

Speaker:

Never.

Speaker:

It doesn't do well for the show.

Speaker:

I like this design here.

Speaker:

But I do think that this show is a concept of female empowerment.

Speaker:

She's pretending to be a guy to get what she wants.

Speaker:

That woman couldn't get into the area because she didn't have a husband.

Speaker:

The women's only way of making money was going to a brothel.

Speaker:

Even the lord's daughter is threatened to going into a brothel.

Speaker:

All of these people are men.

Speaker:

There is no woman around.

Speaker:

Period.

Speaker:

This is a picture all about Females.

Speaker:

You can't have a female, a badass female story and then not do that,

Speaker:

you know what this also reminds me of?

Speaker:

Kill Bill, for some reason.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's Kill Bill mixed with Mulan.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Mixed with Silver Eyed Jack at Arcade.

Speaker:

Style wise.

Speaker:

Together they form Voltron.

Speaker:

Ooh, history.

Speaker:

Tingus!

Speaker:

And Oni!

Speaker:

That has a looks like a bird and has wings!

Speaker:

Oni.

Speaker:

Demon.

Speaker:

How is she a she can see!

Speaker:

I don't understand this insult!

Speaker:

Cause of the glasses.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

And obviously these people are not around women a lot.

Speaker:

She doesn't even sound like a dude.

Speaker:

Oh, suspicion of disbelief.

Speaker:

Please beat the fuck out of these guys.

Speaker:

They're so fucking annoying.

Speaker:

His secret, every secret is revealed here.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It makes sense.

Speaker:

Oh, if he's a world renowned swordsman, swords like, no, like a

Speaker:

blacksmith, he's gonna, this little kid is gonna see every swordsman

Speaker:

that comes by looking for a sword.

Speaker:

And of course then she would become the best swordsman

Speaker:

because she knows all the styles.

Speaker:

. And even how to make the swords.

Speaker:

The sword is the soul of the Samurai.

Speaker:

The sword must match the man.

Speaker:

His blade should be rigid and thin.

Speaker:

Again, I feel like you're getting more out of this if I read it.

Speaker:

Have you guys ever seen Dr.

Speaker:

Stone?

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

So in Dr No, Dr.

Speaker:

Stone, it's a basically Magic School Bus, but anime one of the things they go into

Speaker:

is how samurai swords are made they would basically fold the metal and fold it like

Speaker:

eight times, so they can get a specific kind of density, they were, if you get a

Speaker:

actual, if you ever find a real authentic samurai sword, they're like unbreakable.

Speaker:

They're incredibly dense.

Speaker:

So she's folding in the metal.

Speaker:

But also the concept of that the impurities can make you stronger.

Speaker:

And she's mixed.

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

But it's also a concept of, we ourselves are like swords.

Speaker:

We work very hard, fight through all of adversity.

Speaker:

And through those adversities and those impurities, we become steel.

Speaker:

peanut gallery.

Speaker:

A

Speaker:

sharp stick.

Speaker:

Oh, I was wrong.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Thanos, he has before cuts the line.

Speaker:

Whoa hey, this skill.

Speaker:

So I bet you he, I bet you he was a, probably a fighter before.

Speaker:

Before he was blind.

Speaker:

Good enough for cookies because I don't know any blacks that they

Speaker:

have scars like that far up is their arm, they a thousand kitchen knives.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

There we go.

Speaker:

Miyagi style.

Speaker:

You got a, it's gotta be second nature.

Speaker:

Ooh, a smith signs his name.

Speaker:

I like how all their like, like signatures and logos, they're all in a circle.

Speaker:

I don't know why.

Speaker:

That's cool.

Speaker:

Whoa.

Speaker:

Hey, we're all just out of kitchen knives.

Speaker:

Oh, it's the meteor.

Speaker:

Maybe a woman can in this case.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

She'll probably find the weak spot in The super fire.

Speaker:

Now you need the weak spot in the metal itself, at least in this one.

Speaker:

Will she find it after he dies or before he dies?

Speaker:

Yeah, that is the question.

Speaker:

Oh, look, she's practicing.

Speaker:

Wait a minute, is he just getting a steady streak with these meteorites?

Speaker:

No, it's just the same one.

Speaker:

Then you suck, you can't even hold it.

Speaker:

Yeah you will.

Speaker:

And you're gonna kill everybody.

Speaker:

That's what I'm into.

Speaker:

Revenge.

Speaker:

Protection.

Speaker:

Damn, that's not what she said.

Speaker:

Nicholas Killian was one of them.

Speaker:

I was going around slanging it as much as I could.

Speaker:

And now she's gonna come and kill you.

Speaker:

She's been told this her entire life.

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

Pure, and it may be something shameful.

Speaker:

It may also be strong.

Speaker:

Very rock lee of her right

Speaker:

Whoa.

Speaker:

Can I just cut a blade of grass?

Speaker:

Hey, come on.

Speaker:

Beg boy.

Speaker:

Move it.

Speaker:

It'll be much simpler if you wanted to speak with your master.

Speaker:

No one sees the master.

Speaker:

No one sees the master.

Speaker:

I cannot leave here until I speak to the master of this dojo.

Speaker:

Good.

Speaker:

We get to kill the others.

Speaker:

Aw, three on one, that's not fair.

Speaker:

That's also not very monk like of you, I don't think you're

Speaker:

supposed to want to kill people.

Speaker:

They're not monks, they're samurai.

Speaker:

That's true.

Speaker:

Oof!

Speaker:

Are they?

Speaker:

Oh yes, humbling them.

Speaker:

There you go.

Speaker:

Keep it up.

Speaker:

Oh no.

Speaker:

Ooh!

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

I'm curious, they actually brought in Kung Fu and like Taekwondo masters?

Speaker:

To actually have authentic moves anime.

Speaker:

But Kendo.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh!

Speaker:

It's a wooden sword, everybody.

Speaker:

It's a wooden sword.

Speaker:

No, it's a little much.

Speaker:

So you don't want her to take out the blade.

Speaker:

It's just a regular wooden sword.

Speaker:

They're not worth her blade.

Speaker:

Broke their ankles.

Speaker:

You know what Hawkeye says You don't hunt rabbits with a cannon.

Speaker:

That is true.

Speaker:

Hey, rip his tooth out.

Speaker:

Yeah!

Speaker:

Dude, I am really vibing with this show.

Speaker:

Tarantino would be proud.

Speaker:

The school of hard knocks, bitch.

Speaker:

Oh!

Speaker:

And that happened to me, I could not show my face again.

Speaker:

They're like, oh, how did she defeat you?

Speaker:

She threw her at the ground?

Speaker:

Better yet, they don't even know she's a woman.

Speaker:

Eh?

Speaker:

Oh!

Speaker:

Oh my gosh, damn!

Speaker:

They are not hiding anything.

Speaker:

Can you imagine being the board artist for this?

Speaker:

Oh, goodness.

Speaker:

Oh, it's in his eye!

Speaker:

Oh, my god.

Speaker:

Didn't expect any of this.

Speaker:

It's a little much.

Speaker:

They are full grown men who tried to kill me.

Speaker:

Put down that toy, and draw your sword.

Speaker:

Who?

Speaker:

That sleeping ass.

Speaker:

The lord's daughter, this beautiful daughter, not even ugly.

Speaker:

Oh no, he's an asshole.

Speaker:

Look

Speaker:

at this man's face, bro.

Speaker:

Is that a mole or a front tooth?

Speaker:

Who knows?

Speaker:

Does it matter?

Speaker:

Next time we'll have a dentist expert on here, apparently.

Speaker:

Damn.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

Yeah, I didn't see you wearing that when you were hanging out

Speaker:

with those prostitutes, but okay.

Speaker:

Oooh.

Speaker:

Oh yeah, you do.

Speaker:

You've climbed some hides.

Speaker:

Tiken is won 24 dues.

Speaker:

How many of you?

Speaker:

All of them?

Speaker:

I've been counting . Oh, a bitch.

Speaker:

Tigan.

Speaker:

Teach him to respect.

Speaker:

I've come to speak with your master and we'll go on my way.

Speaker:

Once I have no one sees the master, you won't be accepted.

Speaker:

The funeral cart, this is this at Zu.

Speaker:

Who is this voice actor?

Speaker:

No, it's not Zuko.

Speaker:

No, that is definitely not Zuko.

Speaker:

Who is this person?

Speaker:

Oh, a challenge.

Speaker:

Finally.

Speaker:

Is it?

Speaker:

Or is she playing him?

Speaker:

It's possible.

Speaker:

She probably wants to She hasn't taken out the sword yet.

Speaker:

She probably wants to savor this.

Speaker:

Usually you can tell if they're struggling is if somebody starts sweating.

Speaker:

So far they look like they're evenly matched.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

There we go.

Speaker:

Reveal.

Speaker:

Oh, it's Darren Barnett.

Speaker:

I don't know who that is.

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

can't look at this man's face, bro.

Speaker:

It's

Speaker:

about time.

Speaker:

This is also an emotional battle.

Speaker:

Darren Barnett was also in Samurai Rabbit.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

It is also blue.

Speaker:

Hey, there we go.

Speaker:

Someone figured out how to break the rock.

Speaker:

Themselves, it looks like.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

Nah, that's Sage.

Speaker:

She did that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Oh, they're reading each other's moves before they do it.

Speaker:

That's cool.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

Yeah, so he changes what he's gonna do.

Speaker:

It's like chess.

Speaker:

Nope, they're seeing that they both die, no matter what they do.

Speaker:

This is very interesting.

Speaker:

Ayy.

Speaker:

He didn't fall for it.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

she gonna hit him with the rock lead.

Speaker:

Oh, wow.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

Ooh.

Speaker:

Should've killed her when you had the chance.

Speaker:

That hilt is very nice too.

Speaker:

This blade is gorgeous.

Speaker:

Has little waves at the bottom of it.

Speaker:

I wonder how many iterations they went through to get it.

Speaker:

Oh boy.

Speaker:

You're the master.

Speaker:

You heard all this bullshit going on outside and you didn't do anything?

Speaker:

Where may I find your brother, the black market merchant, Heiji Shindo?

Speaker:

You did all this, to find my brother?

Speaker:

Why?

Speaker:

Heiji Shindo is in the fortress on Tanabe Island, protected by the Gengen Clan.

Speaker:

Whatever business you have with him, you will never reach him.

Speaker:

See, wasn't that so hard?

Speaker:

I didn't have to beat up all these people for this.

Speaker:

Still.

Speaker:

Dog.

Speaker:

May I kill this son of a bitch?

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

Oh, wow.

Speaker:

Okay, so that's the limitation?

Speaker:

Beheading?

Speaker:

How many teeth did we see pulled out?

Speaker:

I don't think she beheaded him.

Speaker:

Or they also would have shown it if she did it, right?

Speaker:

Because they showed everything else?

Speaker:

She's probably going to cut off his hands or something.

Speaker:

I think she blinded him.

Speaker:

I'm going to say she did something to dishonor him.

Speaker:

Like to show shame or something.

Speaker:

Or she cut his hair.

Speaker:

Oh yeah, she probably cut his top knot.

Speaker:

She probably did?

Speaker:

Oh no.

Speaker:

Almost.

Speaker:

No, they're like freezing to death.

Speaker:

Oh, the gold comb!

Speaker:

She cut his topknot!

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Super disrespect.

Speaker:

So that way they can pay their way in.

Speaker:

Yeah, if you cut someone's topknot, it's like you basically, they're,

Speaker:

it's complete defeat to you.

Speaker:

They are under complete defeat to you.

Speaker:

Even in modern times, most balding men feel shame.

Speaker:

You guys don't have anything to worry about for a number of years.

Speaker:

Yeah, I have pretty long dreads.

Speaker:

So this is gonna affect her.

Speaker:

She does feel pain.

Speaker:

Maybe she should have a companion.

Speaker:

Poe sounds like a pretty good companion.

Speaker:

She said Poe.

Speaker:

Is that the guy's name, Poe?

Speaker:

No, I just, he reminds me of Poe.

Speaker:

I'm sure he had a name.

Speaker:

Unfortunately, we talked and missed it.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

If people didn't want to hear people talking, they

Speaker:

wouldn't be listening to this.

Speaker:

True.

Speaker:

Ugh, the black teeth.

Speaker:

Oh, they used to do that back then.

Speaker:

Yeah, that was a sign of beauty.

Speaker:

Why?

Speaker:

I do not understand.

Speaker:

It's another culture.

Speaker:

It's just the way they do OHHH!

Speaker:

You're right!

Speaker:

Oh, bro!

Speaker:

You ball, bro!

Speaker:

Every man who reaches 40 has gone through this transition.

Speaker:

Oh no.

Speaker:

Are they gonna turn their back on him because it was a complete defeat?

Speaker:

Oh yeah, and he's full of shame.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

That's what she said.

Speaker:

Huh.

Speaker:

Sounds familiar.

Speaker:

That's a very villain looking position.

Speaker:

It's the white guy.

Speaker:

Done with it.

Speaker:

The white man!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Number four!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

The white man!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

I'm getting Lord of the Rings vibes.

Speaker:

That's some Mulan stuff right there.

Speaker:

Unfortunately, there's no Mushu.

Speaker:

That's the thing, she's by herself, so she needs some kind of companion.

Speaker:

She cannot do this alone.

Speaker:

It's true.

Speaker:

I wonder who!

Speaker:

Yes!

Speaker:

I wonder who's gonna show up!

Speaker:

I wonder who!

Speaker:

Facts.

Speaker:

Aww.

Speaker:

She got herself a great surrogate father.

Speaker:

He's so sad.

Speaker:

Aww.

Speaker:

I don't know, ways it's a pretty it right now.

Speaker:

Yeah, but this is like in 1633 and exclusively in Japan.

Speaker:

They, they're banned and evil and men beat her up.

Speaker:

Three fifths of a person.

Speaker:

Oh, jeez, oh god, I can't.

Speaker:

At least she learned how to sew.

Speaker:

It's just very useful to her.

Speaker:

Oh, come on.

Speaker:

Oh, it's a joke, All thanks to white dudes.

Speaker:

Is there a scary villain in this or what, man?

Speaker:

That's funny.

Speaker:

Does he not know that she's he can't see, and it's not like he's been touching her.

Speaker:

Yes, but he can hear her.

Speaker:

Hit it on the ground.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Make sure it works.

Speaker:

Oh, no, he knows exactly what it's made from.

Speaker:

Because the sound, yeah.

Speaker:

He's yeah, I even surpass your blacksmithing skills.

Speaker:

The question is she gonna fight naked?

Speaker:

I, what I've seen so far, I wouldn't put it past him.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

Oh my.

Speaker:

Full frontal.

Speaker:

Full frontal.

Speaker:

Bush it all.

Speaker:

Peaches.

Speaker:

Oh, this guy.

Speaker:

Oh god.

Speaker:

Really?

Speaker:

Next episode of Blue Eyed Samurai.

Speaker:

Next time on Dragon Balls!

Speaker:

We're gonna see some heading!

Speaker:

Ah, there's a white guy!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Ah!

Speaker:

Oh, the devil!

Speaker:

I do relate to this.

Speaker:

I relate to this concept a lot.

Speaker:

I do not!

Speaker:

I do not!

Speaker:

I'll never ever tell anyone that you're a girl!

Speaker:

If I see you again I'll kill you.

Speaker:

I'm so clean.

Speaker:

It's not so bad.

Speaker:

We'll be married.

Speaker:

Your father will never allow enough.

Speaker:

It wasn't even a dual.

Speaker:

Therefore, you never lost.

Speaker:

He must have left a trail.

Speaker:

Oh.

Speaker:

Oh, I love it.

Speaker:

It cost me my station.

Speaker:

And my honor,

Speaker:

I've been to a stranger.

Speaker:

I just have to find Tigan.

Speaker:

I have a feeling Ty's gonna fall in love with the Blue Eye Samurai.

Speaker:

Yeah, probably.

Speaker:

You can be great.

Speaker:

I've actually seen what weakness looks like.

Speaker:

You don't want revenge?

Speaker:

Revenge does not hesitate.

Speaker:

There's something I need to tell you.

Speaker:

Oh, look at the sexual tension.

Speaker:

Two warriors.

Speaker:

Yeah!

Speaker:

Cause he's Scottish!

Speaker:

What?

Speaker:

Hey!

Speaker:

Oh shit!

Speaker:

Oh yeah!

Speaker:

Oh man!

Speaker:

Only satisfying.

Speaker:

How's that ghost in shell feel, doesn't it?

Speaker:

That was hardcore.

Speaker:

That was the first episode.

Speaker:

Well done.

Speaker:

Directed by Jane Wu.

Speaker:

Jane.

Speaker:

Excellent job.

Speaker:

Fantastic job.

Speaker:

Good job.

Speaker:

We got an excellent character to follow.

Speaker:

Man.

Speaker:

Brilliant.

Speaker:

Alright.

Speaker:

Here we go.

Speaker:

We're gonna go around.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

What is your first thoughts?

Speaker:

That's some dark shit.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I really liked a lot of the art.

Speaker:

Yay, go Nick!

Speaker:

And the Yay!

Speaker:

I appreciate that.

Speaker:

I appreciate that.

Speaker:

They're shouting out people they know in the credits.

Speaker:

We don't know a number of them.

Speaker:

But yeah.

Speaker:

Yay, co production!

Speaker:

We love you!

Speaker:

Yeah, I don't know We thought you wouldn't be made.

Speaker:

She knows you guys.

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

Yeah, she does.

Speaker:

She knows them.

Speaker:

I actually don't, but I think they did an excellent job.

Speaker:

Quebec!

Speaker:

Looks great.

Speaker:

It's beautiful.

Speaker:

They take this 3D animation and they're, like, doing A great job with medium.

Speaker:

It's really come a long way.

Speaker:

Do you guys ever watch the 3d berserk anime?

Speaker:

Not the 3d it's in the 2d one.

Speaker:

Yeah, don't watch the 3d one.

Speaker:

It's right It just looks so beautiful in this one.

Speaker:

They really took like the painting the artistry and Put it all together

Speaker:

and made something pretty fantastic and we got a great arc to look

Speaker:

forward to with our main character.

Speaker:

I think CG, 3D anime and CGI has come a long way in this form of media.

Speaker:

I remember seeing it when I was younger.

Speaker:

You could tell the difference.

Speaker:

You're like, Oh God, it's 3D.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

It's blinding.

Speaker:

It's horrible.

Speaker:

It's bad to look at.

Speaker:

But nowadays I think people are starting to get the hang of it.

Speaker:

It's either the tell of I don't think that it was the technology's fault.

Speaker:

I think it's that people, they just don't know how to use it

Speaker:

yet at that point earlier on.

Speaker:

Because the technology has always been there.

Speaker:

It's just like, how you use it to express yourself, I think has really changed.

Speaker:

Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker:

Nick, what do you think?

Speaker:

I thought the 3D was pretty cool in Spy Kids.

Speaker:

Oh my goodness.

Speaker:

One thing that's interesting I don't even know.

Speaker:

I have to say, I'm very impressed with Netflix.

Speaker:

Every single time I think that Oh, all this company is good for is buying

Speaker:

other people's properties, then they come out with something like this.

Speaker:

And it shows that there is creativity.

Speaker:

There is something still there that is thriving and is alive.

Speaker:

And I think other studios need to pay attention.

Speaker:

To the fact that we don't need to just do American storytelling.

Speaker:
